Fundraising and Donations

As we are a self-funded group, fundraising and donations play a major part in our operations. The riders pay half the fees for the hire of the horses with the other half coming from the groups fund.

As a result, we organise a variety of fundraising activities throughout each year. These include attending local village fetes and agricultural shows and coffee mornings. In addition to this, we are fortunate to have been voted as one of the local charities in the Waitrose 'Community Matters' scheme and have received donations in the process.

For our fund raising events we would welcome any unwanted quality riding equipment or clothing to sell. Please contact Mary Boulton on 07714 303434.

There are a number of clubs and groups around East Devon who hold fundraising events in support of East Devon RDA. We would like to send out a thank you to certain groups in particular;

  • Newton Poppleford Bridge Club
  • Sidmouth Lions
  • Sampford Peverell Methodist Church
  • Waitrose Community Matters
  • The Mad March Cycle Ride
  • Sheldon Big Breakfast - Jointly organised with the Mercy Ships Charity
  • Nomad Bowling Association
  • Nib Consulting ltd.

If you have a fundraising idea or would like to hold an event to help raise funds for our group please don't hesitate to contact us.

Volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to spare a few hours each week. The more people we get involved, the smoother the classes will run and we will be able to support our riders to our full potential. Whether you have experience with horses or not, you will be trained through our progressive training plan.

If you are unable to attend the riding classes we are always looking for people to help organise and run our fundraising events.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if anything you have read has interested you or you wish to volunteer with us.
